Why We Use preservatives?

If you're an ingredient reader like many of us, you may stumble across a few ingredients that may ring some alarms, and rightfully so! It's so important to understand that having as many organic and natural compounds present in our products, preservatives are meant to enhance the quality and integrity of what we produce.

Surprisingly, preservatives are the most controversial ingredients used in many natural and organic products. It is important to be cautious of products that advertise or market themselves by stating they do not use preservatives because it can jeopardize the overall quality of the ingredients that are being marketed. Do not be surprised by the many companies and businesses that will lie about not having preservatives to try and, "Set themselves apart" from other competitors. Certainly, these companies use preservatives because there is absolutely no way around it. Even businesses that speak of using certain organic or natural ingredients like Vitamin E or Rosemary Extract alone to preserve their products must use other preservatives to aid in the protection of the other ingredients that may come into contact with water.

One important thing to note is that by law, any cream, lotion, serum, toner, mist, cleanser, etc. must have a preservative in it in order to protect the company's customers. Preservatives are absolutely fundamental and should be looked at as a positive rather than a negative because without preservatives, you will experience bacteria, mold, and an immense amount of contamination in the product(s) that you do decide to use. Essentially, all products that may come into contact with water should have a preservative. If this is not the case, please ask the necessary questions to ensure proper use of the product so that you are protected.

Because of our standard, we will not stray away from the use of preservatives in our products because again, quality is what we strive to bring our customers and we will continue to grow in that regard.

There are over 65 preservatives legally allowed to be used in cosmetic products, and others that have been confirmed by the FDA as safe to use under applicable regulations. We use a number of naturally-derived preservatives that we find work substantially well when it comes to protecting our formula. Take a look at some of our favorites that we love to use:
